Samantha Smiley is a passionate and driven student leader, community advocate, and aspiring

healthcare professional from Southfield, Michigan. A 2024 graduate of West Bloomfield High

School and a current Sophomore at Salem College, Samantha is known for her strong

academic record, leadership in school and community initiatives, and her unwavering

commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

Throughout high school, Samantha embraced a rigorous course load, including AP Language,

AP Biology, AP US History, AP African American History, Honors Chemistry, and Honors

Physics—demonstrating both her intellectual curiosity and determination to excel in challenging

environments. She also was a proud member of the National Honor Society and the President

of her school’s HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) chapter, where she discovered

her passion for healthcare and service.

Outside the classroom, Samantha has been deeply involved in both leadership and service.

Currently, she serves on the Student Government Executive Board, holds class council

positions since freshman year, and played a key role as Student Leadership representative for

the Class of 2028. Her ability to inspire and motivate peers also translated onto the tennis

courts, where she served as Team Captain and worked as both a coach and assistant at local

clubs, mentoring youth and promoting sportsmanship.

​

In her spare time she enjoys competing in scholarship beauty pageants and has held several

state and national titles. Competing in pageants is much more than just how a girl looks, it's

about giving back to the community and being able to present yourself in front of a panel of

judges. Samantha has grown so much throughout pageants and because of them she is able to

step out of her comfort zone and be the best version of herself without caring what other people

think.

Driven by compassion and a desire to uplift others, Samantha founded her own nonprofit

organization, Smiles with Samantha, to spread joy and support to those in need. From packing

food at local food banks and collecting toys for children in hospitals, to organizing activities for

elderly residents in nursing homes, she has consistently shown a heart for service and a

commitment to community impact.

​

With plans to pursue a career in medicine—particularly in geriatrics—Samantha is focused on

becoming a changemaker in the healthcare field. She is especially passionate about

Alzheimer’s research and envisions opening her own practice one day, where she can combine

her love for science with her compassion for others.

To every young girl with a dream in her heart and the world at her feet: you are powerful,

capable, and worthy of every opportunity life has to offer. My passion lies in walking beside you

on your journey—uplifting your voice, helping you access the resources you deserve, and

showing you that your goals are not only possible, but within reach.

That is why I am honored to be an ambassador for this incredible organization to help create spaces where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to become the best version of yourself. Whether it’s through education, mentorship, or simply someone believing in you—I’m here to help you rise. Because

when girls are given the tools to succeed, they don’t just change their own lives—they change

the world.
